Leona Louise Lewis is already a big name in the world of Western music. This English singer-songwriter, born 3 April 1985 is also the champion of the third series of the The X Factor—the widely -talked television talent show. Who can forget those immortal single, A Moment like This, which was launched on 20 December 2006. With a world record of downloading fifty thousand times in thirty minutes, this debuting album of this talented singer created ripples among the music lovers throughout the world. Leona Lewis have already gained iconic popularity as an upcoming singer. Spirit, her recent album released on 12 November 2007, is claimed to be a major global launch of a singer who have won the television talent show both in the U.S and UK. As critics believe Leona’s success is anticipated to be more remarkable as the debuting album Spirit is a significant heavyweight album released from the likes of Spice Girls, Led Zeppelin and Celine Dion before Christmas. This talented singer is equally efficient with contemporary R&B, soul as well as pop music.Her new album Spirit would surely raise the Spirit of the listeners. It is said that most of the tracks of Spirit were recorded in various places in the UK and the US, including Los Angeles, London, Miami, Atlanta and Georgia. Bleeding Love, the second single which was launched in the UK on 22 October 2007 made a record of being the biggest first-week sales of 2007 with 66,000 copies on its first day of release and sales of 218,805 copies in its first week.However, much more is expected from Spirit which has some immortal numbers, such as "Whatever It Takes" (co-written by Lewis), "Homeless", "Yesterday" and a cover of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face". People are positive about the success of Spirit. Its triumphant success is evident from the sales reports of Spirit which is selling like popcorns in the UK market and is estimated to sell around 100,000 copies by mid November. Spirit has already superseded the sales record of the top 10 contemporary HMV albums combined.
